While a model is working, the word it animates becomes a sponsored line. Claude Code ships a documented spinnerVerbs setting for exactly this, and a statusLine setting for the row beneath it. Nothing is added to the screen — the thing that was already spinning now says something else.

When the model stops, so does the ad. Nothing moves while you are reading.

Two keys in ~/.claude/settings.json, both documented extension points. No file belonging to Claude Code is patched, no Content Security Policy is touched, and there is no auto-updater.

Your settings are backed up before the first write, and if that file will not parse we refuse to write at all rather than risk clobbering it. uninstall restores exactly what was there.

Time only accrues while the model is genuinely working. Leaving an editor open overnight earns nothing, on purpose — billing an advertiser for an empty chair is the thing this platform exists not to do.

No. The browser slot watches for one thing: whether the site’s stop button exists, which is how it knows a model is generating. It never touches message text. The terminal client sees only the session metadata Claude Code hands its status line.

Your device token stays in the background worker and is never exposed to any page.

Chrome permits ads on third-party pages when they are disclosed, attributed where they appear, non-interfering and not disguised as native content. Ours is all four: it is labelled Sponsored, drawn in an isolated container, and nothing on the page is moved, hidden, restyled or read.

If you would rather nothing touched the page at all, the side panel renders beside it and needs no site access — as do the terminal client and the editor extension.

Balance is credited the moment an impression clears — immediately and irreversibly, because it is a sum over an append-only ledger rather than a number we adjust. There is no clearing delay and no clawback.

One sponsored line shown during an AI wait state — in a terminal status bar, an editor status bar, or over a web chat. Inventory sells in blocks of 1,000 impressions.

Prepaid, minimum $5.00. Campaigns stop serving when the balance runs out, so there is no credit to be extended and no invoice to argue about.

A second-price auction. The winner pays one tick above the runner-up, never their own bid, so bidding your true value is the correct strategy and cannot be exploited.

Bidding opens at $0.50 per thousand. Targeting a specific AI product floors at $2.50, because that is the signal worth paying for.

Anything that fails the integrity checks, which is most of what other networks would happily bill you for: an ad shown for less than 5 seconds, a hidden tab, an unfocused window, a replayed confirmation, a second session belonging to someone already being counted, or time when nobody was actually waiting on a model.

Dwell is verified against our clock, not the client’s. A client claiming ten seconds that only had two is rejected.

Every impression is reported with its rotation position — whether yours was the first line shown during that wait or the sixth — and with which attention mode the publisher had chosen. You can see what else shared the same moment.

Rejections are reported too, with reasons. A network that only shows you what it charged you for is hiding the interesting half.

Placement (which AI product), geography, self-declared publisher profile, and locally derived workspace signals — languages and dependency names, never code, never repository names, never prompts. Each tier carries its own surcharge.

Publishers opt into the profile and workspace tiers explicitly and can revoke either without affecting the other.

A click is billed as 50 impressions on top of the impression itself, which works out around $1.54 an effective click against $3–15 on developer keywords elsewhere.
